Starting in 2025, the reactivation of usernames will no longer be required. IT services for Stellenbosch University (SU) staff will continue without any interruptions. Here’s what you need to know:
What is changing?
Previously, network access for staff expired at the beginning of April each year, requiring manual reactivation and approval by your cost centre manager. Each March, you would have received reminder emails from helpinfo@sun.ac.za about your username's expiry date, along with instructions on how to reactivate your access.
From 2025, this process will no longer apply. Usernames will now remain active until the end date of your appointment or engagement with the university.
Why the change?
User feedback and advancements in our systems, which allow for centralisation, have eliminated the need for manual reactivation while ensuring continued security and efficiency.
