NB* For First year students only, when you connect to Eduroam you will have connection with restricted capacity until the end of March 2023 and then disconnected if you do not opt in.
If you do opt in, you will have full access to university services.
To register a windows device to access our Wi-Fi: Eduroam, complete the following steps:
Step-by-step guide
Register your windows laptop device for Wi-Fi.
- Select the Register Me! Wi-Fi option from the wireless network menu on your Taskbar.
- Your default browser will automatically open Edge, Google Chrome, or Firefox.
- If not, open your browser and enter the following web address: https://registerme.sun.ac.za
- You will be prompted to login with your Stellenbosch University account details.
- Username is your email address (student number or username@sun.ac.za)
- Password is your password.
- Click on Sign In and select your Language.
If the payment is required (the fee will be deducted from your account):
- Select Confirm.
- Tick the checkbox.
- Select Pay.
- When all relevant information is filled in, select Register Me.
Select Eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool.
- Select Stellenbosch University in User Group.
- Select Eduroam Tab to download the Eduroam Tool
- Once downloaded,launch file and select run to begin installation
- You will be prompted to login with your Stellenbosch University account details.
- Username is your email address (student number or username@sun.ac.za).
- Password is your password.
- Click on Install and follow the steps and select Finish to complete.
- Click Eduroam on your Wi-Fi menu and it will automatically connect.
