1. RegisterMe! not connecting/opening browser

Possible fixes:

  • Check random mac address/ random hardware setting disabled

  • Make sure to RUN "Run" downloaded file when timer starts.

Make sure you have an Apple certified LAN adapter

Make sure the url address is filled in correctly if does not automatically pops upConnect to Eduroam, enter full student email and password, enter admin password to make certificate changes.

Make sure private address is disabled and join network, use Use full email and password.

Eduroam

When your password have changed please do the following

  1. Click Eduroam on your Wi-Fi menu and the following should appear
  2. Enter or select the following settings to connect:
    • Make sure you have the correct
    • Enter your Identity: Full university email e.g username@sun.ac.zaImage Added
      • Image AddedMake sure no spaces are left after you have entered it and do not auto fill
    • Anonymous identity: Leave it blank
    • Enter your Password: Enter your university password
    • Click connect
    • You will now be connected to Wi-Fi: Eduroam

RegisterMe!

  • RegisterMe! requires sign in - change random mac address to device mac
  • Tap on RegisterMe! to sign in
  • Unauthorized will pop up, 3 dots top right use without internet then open browser.

Eduroam

1. Error cannot/unable connect to network

Possible fixes:

  • Forget network and re-enter credentials

  • Make sure password is updated

  • Make sure username has no spaces e.g: xxxx@sun.ac.za with password

  • Restart device

  • Windows updates then restart

2. Connected - no internet:

Initial connection takes a few minutes, please be give it a moment and try again. 

Possible fixes:

  • Restart device

  • Make sure password is updated

  • Make sure username has no spaces e.g: xxxx@sun.ac.za with password

4. Change/update university password

Device might not connect when your password has been updated

Possible fixes:
  • Forget Eduroam wifi network
  • Re-enter full sun email and password

Eduroam

MacBook

  • Check profile in system preference, should be the last icon and remove the Eduroam profile
  • Check in KeyChain and search Eduroam. Set the new password in the Certificate

iPhone

  • Anonymous identity: Leave it blank
  • Enter your Password: Enter your university password
  • Click connect
  • You will now be connected to Wi-Fi: Eduroam
    • If your password has updated Please do the following
      • Go to Eduroam wifi and press the blue "i"
        Forget the network.
        When it shows up, click blue "i" again
        Turn off auto join
        Join network
        Enter full university email and password
        Trust certificate

    • If you cannot forget Eduroam network check if the Eduroam profile is installed:
      • Go to settings
      • General
      • VPN & Device management
      • Profiles
      • Remove Eduroam profile

Eduroam

When your password have changed please do the following

  1. Click Eduroam on your Wi-Fi menu and the following should appear
  2. Enter or select the following settings to connect:
    • Select EAP method: PEAP
    • Select Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2
    • Set CA certificate: Do not validate
    • Enter your Identity: Full university email e.g username@sun.ac.zaImage Removed
      • Image RemovedMake sure no spaces are left after you have entered it and do not auto fill
      • Reinstall the Eduroam profile
