A lecturer has an option to change course settings as needed.

Accessing course settings

(lightbulb) How to access course settings of a course

  • Click on the course name to access it.
  • The overall course settings are found on the ‘Edit course settings’ page.

Some settings are populated automatically with information when the course is created and other settings cannot be changed. Course settings can be accessed on the right corner of your course page by clicking the configuration icon with an arrow, this will display a list of course settings available in Moodle.

  • Click ‘Edit settings’ to display additional settings.
  • To access all course settings, click the configuration icon as above;

  • Scroll down and click ‘More’ to access all the course administration options.


Not all settings can be changed by a lecturer, some course setting are set at System level, and these settings will be greyed out.
