Connecting a Windows device

Connecting an Apple device

Complete the following steps:

1. After completing RegisterMe! click on Instructions for using the CAT tool that pertains to your device or enter link https://cat.eduroam.org/?idp=2472&profile=4284
2. Click the Android 10 and higher button
3. Open the saved Config file.
4. Once it has open, click Install and run the install.
5. Enter you Identity: Full university email e.g username@sun.ac.za

   • Make sure no spaces are left after you have entered it and do not autofill

6. A green Profile installed message will apprear.
7. Exit the CAT tool and go to your wifi settings.
8. Select gear next to Eduroam
9. Enter or select the following settings to connect:
   
   • Certain Android devices: under advanced settings there will be a "use device mac address" or "turn off random mac address" please select use device mac address
   • Click connect
10. You will now be connected to Wi-Fi: Eduroam

Complete the following steps: 

1. After completing RegisterMe! click on Instructions for using the CAT tool that pertains to your device or enter link https://cat.eduroam.org/?idp=2472&profile=4284
2. Click the MS Windows 10,11 button
3. Save the file
4. Go to your downloads and run the eduroam Stellenbosch University file.
5. Click on Run
6. The install wizard will run. Click Next.
7. "The installer will only work properly if you are a member of Stellenbosch University."
8. Enter login details: full university email e.g username@sun.ac.za and password
9. Click OK 
   
   • If you are prompted with a warning message, click on Connect 
10. Once credentials are verified and authenticated status message will be: Connected, secured
    • Verification might take a moment
11. You will now be connected to Wi-Fi: Eduroam

Complete the following steps:

1. After completing RegisterMe! click on Instructions for using the CAT tool that pertains to your device or enter link https://cat.eduroam.org/?idp=2472&profile=4284
2. Click the Apple device button.
3. Allow the Config file to be downloaded
4. Go to Settings and select Profile downloaded.
5. Install the selected profile.
6. Next on Consent
7. Install on the next page.
8. Enter login details: full university email e.g username@sun.ac.za
9. Enter password.
10. Profile should now be installed.
11. Go to your wifi setting and select blue "i" next to Eduroam
12. Deselect private address
13.  Disable auto join
14.  Click Join network
15. Click OK
16. Once credentials are verified and authenticated status message will be: Connected, unsecured
