Navigating within a courseThe SUNLearn course page is divided into three main columns The left side column including a set of individual blocks such as Navigation and Administration. Navigation is used to move between courses. Administration is used for you to look at your Grades. The main central column, is the primary course content area where you will find your study material, notes and all information you need to work on to complete the course. The right side column including other sets of individual blocks as added by the lecturer. Courses will not always have the same Blocks available. The main central column can be organised using a list layout or card layout, which will contain various learning material such as Learner Guides, Notes, Quizzes or Assignments. In list view course layout, you can access content by clicking the link of the specific resource and/or activity. For example, to view and complete a quiz, you will click the quiz link at the course homepage. The link will take you to the quiz page. In card view course layout, you can access content by clicking the ‘view’ link of the specific resource and/or activity. Docking and undocking BlocksYou can dock blocks in Moodle to free up and expand space in the centre column of your course page. Note that docking blocks is user specific and course specific, a block docked in one course is not automatically docked in a different course. To dock a block, click on the icon associated with the block you want to dock. Course with undocked blocks Course with docked blocks Breadcrumbs trail navigationThe breadcrumbs trail begins with a link to the Site Dashboard. Further links to the right show a trail to your current location. Click the course name to return to the main course page from a sub page. Note: Text in grey on the breadcrumbs trail is for reference only, and is not clickable. Engaging with contentStudents can access content that has been made available to them by their lecturer. The content will be displayed either in a list or card format as shown above, dependent on a lecturer’s course design. Accessing uploaded contentContent is accessed via an activity or resource link made available by your lecturer. There are different types of activities and resources that lecturers use to upload content for students. |
